AMADEO®  Five Fingers. One AmedeoFor all phases of rehabilitation.

The AMADEO is the latest in a long row of clinically tried and tested robotic and computer-assisted therapy devices for fingers and hands. The new design and the specially developed tyroS software make the AMADEO more flexible and offer an expanded spectrum of therapy options. Thus, the AMADEO is the most advanced robotic-assisted finger-hand therapy device world-wide.

Clever therapy
The AMADEO® is suitable for all phases of
finger/hand rehabilitation.

The AMADEO can be adapted to the needs of each individual patient, small or big hands, all or single fingers. For neurological, orthopedic and pediatric applications.

In cases of limited mobility of the fingers, specific exercises on the therapy device help improve motor and sensory functions. The finger movements stimulate the brain and thus the neoformation of synapses.

AMADEO® Functionality:

The AMADEO simulates the natural grasping motion and executes automated movement sequences. Depending on the degree of neurological damage, the patient can be treated passively or actively. The therapist can devise a therapy program suited for the individual patient:

  • CPM (Continuous Passive Motion) Therapy - the passive hand is stimulated.

  • Assistive Therapy - the hand displays function and permits active training at the patient’s limit of performance.

  • Interactive Therapy - active training with specifically developed virtual therapy games.

The AMADEO® also now includes:
  • Improved evaluation of the force actively exerted by the patient, as well as the active Range of Motion (ROM)

  • Tonus and spasticity measurement

  • Spasticity therapy and sensitivity training

Ergonomics and flexibility for adults and children

Before therapy with the AMADEO  begins, thumb and finger supports are attached to the patient’s finger tips with special plasters. This allows for an individual fit and guarantees hygienic working conditions. The finger supports contain magnets, which connect to the AMADEO finger slides. The ergonomic hand/arm rest supports the patient’s arm during therapy. For arm therapy with children, the therapist can easily and effortlessly exchange the hand/arm rest. The finger slides and the range of motion of each finger adapt to children’s hands. Specially manufactured thumb and finger supports and plasters make the AMADEO an ideal therapy option for the little ones.

Evaluation & therapy

The tyroS software is a true allrounder. For doctors and therapists the software offers full control over the finger-hand-rehabilitation process. The therapy progress is recorded in a comprehensible way and can be recalled any time. Thus, therapy success becomes assessable and can be easily explained to the patient. For the patient the tyroS also means loads of fun. Therapy games and real-time bio-feedback motivate the patient to practice more. Training at the patient’s limits creates a first sense of achievement. Just the way therapy is supposed to be.
